How does Direct Pay work?

All you need to do is authorize your bill amount to be deducted from your checking or savings account each month. Approximately three (3) business days prior to the due date on your statement, your bank will automatically pay your electric bill and deduct the amount from your account. Proof of your payment will appear on your bank statement.

You will still receive a bill statement each month detailing charges and usage for your records. It will include the words "Do not pay - Direct Pay". In addition, if you have questions about your electric bill, you can still call our office for clarification before payment is drafted from your bank account. The arrangement can be canceled in writing by you, your bank or Allamakee-Clayton Electric.

How do I sign up for Direct Pay?

Simply print and fill out the Direct Pay Authorization form and return it to our office with a deposit slip (preferred) or a voided check for the bank from which you want your payment to be deducted. You can either mail the authorization form or drop it off at our office at 229 Highway 51, Postville, Iowa.
